This Privacy Policy explains how Quarx Farm (“we”, “us”), the company behind splitwow, handles personal data in relation to the splitwow website and app. We care about your privacy and collect as little data as possible.

1. Data controller

2. The splitwow app

The splitwow macOS app runs entirely on your Mac. It uses the macOS Accessibility API only to read and move your windows on your device. Your layouts and saved scenes are stored locally on your Mac. The app has no account, sends no analytics, and does not transmit your data to us or to third parties.

3. Data we collect (website)

• Contact form: the name (optional), email address and message you submit.
• Newsletter: the email address you provide to subscribe.
• Server logs: our hosting provider may process technical data (e.g. IP address) to deliver and secure the site.

4. Purposes and legal bases

• Respond to your enquiries — legitimate interest / your consent.
• Send product news and changelog — your consent (you can unsubscribe anytime).
• Operate and secure the website — legitimate interest.

5. Retention

We keep contact messages for as long as needed to handle your request and newsletter data until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept for a limited period by our provider.

6. Service providers

We rely on third parties that process data on our behalf, such as our hosting provider [hosting provider] and our email/newsletter provider [email provider]. They act as processors under appropriate agreements.

7. International transfers

If data is transferred outside the EEA, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).

8. Your rights

splitwow is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
